Final Fantasy XIV remains an incredibly popular MMORPG. Having pulled digital sales after record server congestion, Square Enix reinstated sales several weeks ago and server transfers are now in effect through the World Transfer Service. However, they're now suffering with renewed congestion.
On the official Final Fantasy XIV website, Square Enix detailed how to best avoid errors by moving to servers players have used at least once. PlayStation Lifestyle reports that transferring to a different server is taking hours for some players, who then can't play normally since the transfer is taking place.

Final Fantasy XIV Suffers Renewed Server Congested After Reopening World Transfers
While Square Enix claims to have fixed this issue in the latest Final Fantasy XIV patch notes, servers issues remain. Square Enix previously confirmed they may need to halt sales if they faced continued issues, though they've yet to confirm this will happen.
