The FFXIV Make it Rain event is back on the cards this June, promising new rewards for some, and a big boost to those looking to snatch up any lingering items they've struggled to save for over the years. Our Make It Rain FFXIV event guide outlines some fast ways to gain MGP during the campaign. You'll still have to work hard, but heed the tips below to speed things up.
Final Fantasy XIV has a variety of Seasonal Events that reward players with valuable items such as Clothing, Mounts, Minions, and more. One of those seasonal Events it’s the Make It Rain Campaign, an annual event that, differently from other seasonal events, it’s not based on any real festivity. Instead, it’s themed after the Manderville Gold Saucer.
For more FFXIV guides, our look at how to get the Chewy minion might be of interest if you're grinding MGP for similar little familiars. Likewise, the FFXIV Garo event is ongoing, promising cool armour and mounts to those who get stuck into PVP. That's another grind with looking into if you have the stomach for it.
Make It Rain Campaign - Schedule
The Make It Rain campaign will last from June 3 to June 20, 2022. During that time, you'll get 50 percent more MGP any time you earn it. Outside of buying MGP for Gil, that is.
Make It Rain Campaign - Event And Rewards
To participate, the only requirement is that you have the Gold Saucer unlocked. To do that, you need to do the following Quest:
The Great Horn Heist
- Minimum Level: 15
- Location: Ul'dah – Steps of Nald (x:9.4, x:9.2)
- NPC: Ollier
- Players also need to complete one of the following main scenario quests: "The Gridanian Envoy," "The Ul'dahn Envoy," or "The Lominsan Envoy."
Once you have it unlocked, attune to the aetherye in The Gold Saucer to unlock a teleport you'll find under the Thanalan tab.
How To Get MGP Fast in Final Fantasy XIV
If you're hoping to collect enough MGP to buy one of the better mounts, cards, hairstyles, outfits, or emotes during the Make It Rain campaign, it literally pays to know how to maximise your efforts in the Gold Saucer. Here are a few tips.
Take part in the Fashion Report
Even if you don't manage a whole 100 points, the weekly Fashion Report task dishes out more MGP than most other activities in a single go. 60,000 MGP is the usual rule for little effort here, with a 50% uplift during the Make It Rain campaign really making the difference.
To make things even easier, we chronicle the answers for the task in our Fashion Report this week guide. All you have to do is source the clothes.
Do the Mini Cactpot
With three tickets available to you each day, these fun little scratchcards generally offer a maximum payout of 30k MGP to lucky players who manage to scratch off the magic numbers.
A 50 percent boost there would give you a maximum extra payout of 210k MGP over two weeks. It'll never happen, but it's nice to think about.
Run GATEs
GATEs are by far the best ways to rack up MGP at speed. These events pop up around every 20 minutes, and while some aren't great and require luck to really get much from, some, like Leap of Faith and Air Force One, a pure skill-focused minigames that can give your Gold Saucer wallet a good boost in limited time. They're all worth doing, but these two specifically are worth keeping tabs on.
Challenge Logs
Another great way to earn a big boost of MGP on each reset is to quickly clear the Gold Saucer section of the Challenge Log. All you need to do is participate in the minigames you'll generally be doing anyway. And if you go onto the Chocobo Race floor of the building and play the gathering minigames, you'll clear the amusements part of the log with speed as well.
Chocobo Racing
Though it's a deeply convoluted system for those who really get stuck in, you can get a solid chunk of MGP from even just a few matches in the Chocobo Racing minigame.
Don't worry too much about winning if you haven't played before. You'll get there in time, but participation is what matters at first. Lots of first-time bonuses will come your way as you send your chicken darting across its various tracks.
What Are the Rarest Gold Saucer Rewards?
Added way back with the Gold Saucer many years ago now, the Fenrir mount is still one of the clearest examples of an Adventure who's enjoyed their fair share of Thanalan's greatest entertainment venue. It isn't the only majorly expensive reward, though. Here's what to aim for during the Make It Rain campaign:
- Mounts
- Fenrir (1mil MGP)
- Sabotender Emperador (2m MGP)
- Korpokkur Kolossus (750k MGP)
- Archone Throne (750k MGP)
- Pod 602
- Adamantoise (200k MGP)
We'll add minions, cards, emotes, and more to this list as the event goes on. Just be sure to check all the vendors in the main plaza to find something to work toward. Even with a 50 percent MGP boost, the grind can drag on if you don't find something you really want. Take aim, then fire.
