MMORPG fans rejoice, the famous Final Fantasy XIV free trial returns today on February 22, following its suspension two months ago. This news comes from XIV's latest Letter from the Producer Livestream, hosted over the weekend by director and producer Naoki Yoshida, as reported by The Verge.
XIV's free trial allows players to experience the base game and first expansion - A Realm Reborn and Heavensward - for 30 days. It's a generous offer, though that comes with a level 60 cap, reduced priority in server queues, and the inability to form parties unless the invitee has a paid subscription.
Final Fantasy XIV Resumes Free Trials Later Today
Final Fantasy XIV has become one of the world's most popular MMORPG's, and some have argued Square Enix were victims to their own success. Having pulled digital sales after record server congestion during Endwalker's launch, that was reinstated last month alongside server transfers.
Elsewhere in Final Fantasy XIV news, we recently learned the upcoming 7.0 Patch will include graphical upgrades for the first time. Updating character models, environments, lighting, and more, there's plenty to look forward to, and we'll keep you informed when we learn more.
