New items are par for the course in Fortnite, but it's rare that new traversal equipment lands in the game. Luckily, players are in for a treat with the Fortnite Grapple Glove, which lets you swing across the map just like the Spider-Man web shooters used to do. The Grapple Glove is in the game now, so we've got all the details you need to know.

In this Fortnite guide, we'll explain where to find the Grapple Glove across the world. Interestingly, it doesn't spawn in random locations or chests like most Fortnite weapons, so instead you'll have to go hunting. We'll also explain how you use the Grapple Glove, for some tips on swinging as effectively as possible.

Elsewhere in Fortnite, feel free to check out our Chapter 3 Season 3 hub so you can stay on top of all the changes in the new season, including the weapons that have been vaulted and unvaulted. We've also got a full list of the week 2 quests, so you can snag some extra XP while you play.

Where Are The Fortnite Grapple Glove Locations?

The Grapple Glove spawns in ten distinct locations on the Fortnite map. It won't appear in random chests though. Instead, it can only be found in the red tool boxes hidden in these locations. The places to check are as follows, listed from north to south of the map:

  • Logjam Lumberyard (north-west)
  • Shifty Shafts (east)
  • Daily Bugle (east)
  • Rave Cave
  • Tilted Towers (east)
  • The Joneses (around the islands)
  • Rocky Reels (north)
  • Greasy Grove (south-west)
  • Condo Canyon (north-east)
  • Sypapse Station (north)

Simply head to any of these locations, and look for a purple tent with music blaring from speakers. These are quite aptly called Grapple Stops. Then seek out the red toolboxes emblazoned with a grappling hook icon. Open it, and you'll find some ammo alongside the Grapple Glove.

How Do I Use The Fortnite Grapple Glove?

Anyone who used Spider-Man's web shooters in Chapter 3 Season 1 will know exactly what to expect from the Grapple Glove. You fire it at ledges or buildings to propel yourself into the air, chaining them together to swing and traverse across the Fortnite map rapidly.

When equipped, the Grapple Glove shows a small reticle. It indicates whether a ledge can be grappled to or not. The one catch is you have a limited number of grapples, and if you lose momentum and a chain ends, you have to wait for a short period of time for it to recharge.

Equally, you can fire the Grapple Glove at enemies to propel yourself towards them. If combined with a quick weapon change, this can make for a very effective ambush tactic, leaving rivals with no chance to respond.

That's everything you need to know about the Fortnite Grapple Glove. After we lost this key traversal tool with the web shooters being vaulted, it's good to see them back. While you're here, feel free to learn more about the Fortnite Summer Legends Pack, which has returned after a few years away.
