Leaks are nothing new in the gaming industry, but it's always shocking to see early builds of games uploaded to the internet. That has happened to several games in development, like 2XKO from Riot Games and Killing Floor 3. It’s interesting news for observers and sad stuff for the developers who were hoping to surprise fans with these projects.
A report from Insider Gaming has confirmed that various projects have been uploaded to a shady Discord chat. Based on the report, someone who had access to all of these projects uploaded these games to this shadowy Discord server. Naturally, we won’t link to that, since the devs deserve to show off these titles when they’re ready.
Here are the leaked games:
- Killing Floor 3
- Riot Games‘ 2XKO
- PLAYERUNKNOWN Prologue: Go Wayback
- Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders
- Delta Force
Only time will tell if the leaks will affect the development of these games, though it is disappointing how this happened. These games are all pretty different from each other, so it’s hard to pinpoint how all of them were able to be uploaded like this. Leaks are interesting, but here’s hoping that none of these builds are released to the public.
Fans will remember how insane the Insomniac Games leak was a while back, giving everyone an unexpected sneak peek at the development of Marvel’s Wolverine. Several details about the Spider-Man games were also revealed, including a canceled multiplayer spinoff that had some potential. What made the Insomniac leak worse was how the private information of several employees was shed, so we can only hope the same didn’t happen for these devs.
The most noteworthy game leaked is 2XKO, as Riot continues to be a huge name in gaming. With League of Legends continuing to grow and Netflix’s Arcane becoming a hit, fans are going to keep an eye on Riot. Obviously, none of them wanted this to happen.
