Over the past few days, Capcom has been teasing a special collaboration between Street Fighter 6 and Monster Hunter Wilds, and now it's finally real. Coming this May 28, the Monster Hunter Wilds collaboration event will let players unlock a special Layered Armor set for Akuma. But that’s not all, you’ll also be able to acquire his moveset and use it to hunt monsters.

Unlike previous Monster Hunter collaborations, where Layered Armors are usually just for show, Akuma is an entirely different beast, apart from just fashion hunting or cosplay.

Full Akuma Costume.

Players must equip the full Akuma Layered Armor and Regular Armor set to tap into their inner demon powers. You’ll need to grind materials from the upcoming Event Quests, “Demonic Strength” and “True Strength,” to unlock them. Once you've gathered the parts, head to Gemma for forging and crafting.

Akuma’s moveset is essentially a recreation of the Drive Impact system from Street Fighter 6. After equipping the skin, players can select “Assisted Combo: Akuma” from the item tab.

Shoryuken!

Once activated from the Item Menu, Akuma can go wild, unleashing special moves like Gou Hadouken and Gou Shoryuken. The best part? Damage scales based on your currently equipped primary weapon. Equipping the full armor instead of just the Layered version enhances the moveset. Most of Akuma’s attacks will gain Stun properties and a special offset effect.

It’s still unclear whether you can take down a monster using only Akuma’s moves, but players are already hyped to try it out when the full event drops on May 28.
