While lots of RPG fans currently have their sights firmly set on the release of Starfield in September, plenty will likely be giving the full release of Baldur’s Gate 3 a go in the coming days.
A legion of loyal PC players, many of whom have been playing the early access version of the game since 2020, have already jumped into it to begin scything through quests and battles.
Among them are a number of streamers keen to see what BG3 has to offer for themselves. That said, so far, it seems as though the aspect of the game that’s been drawing the most reaction from them is the option to see their characters in the buff.
Were you among the legion of players to jump into Baldur’s Gate 3 on release day?
As spotted by PC Gamer, the game’s clips page on Twitch is full of videos of creators clicking the option to ‘hide clothes’ midway through creating their characters and immediately being reduced to a giggling mess or adopting a suitably mortified expression.
The list of folks who’ve ended up red-faced thus far includes Elden Ring dance pad virtuoso MissMikkaa and World of Warcraft ace AnnieFuchsia, with their reactions capturing both ends of embarrassment scale.
“Wait, what just happens if I…” began the former, right before discovering that zooming in on their character’s face wouldn’t stop them from seeing everything the second the disrobing occurred. Following a few seconds of laughter, the streamer then quickly plunged into surveying the game’s horn options, which is an interesting choice of palette cleanser.
AnnieFuchsia, on the other hand, reacted by staring into space for a few seconds, as though trying to process what they’d just seen, having already warned viewers under the age of 18 to close their eyes so that the essential task of choosing their character’s genitalia could be completed.
They did at least refuse a viewer request to have this decision made via a private part-based poll, allowing the stream to retain at least some level of decorum.
It seems that a couple of sudden genital appearances have also been happening during gameplay for some players, as this clip from Reddit of a gnome regretting the decision to go commando proves.
Much like in Cyberpunk 2077, which packs a similar genital customisation mechanic, you can toggle nudity off in Baldur’s Gate 3’s settings, a welcome option for any prudish folks that are among the huge number of players that have dived into the game so far.
