Now that it’s finally emerged from early access, Baldur’s Gate 3 has already surpassed a lot of expectations, having attracted a huge amount of players keen to embark on the journey to its highest levels.

Despite some bizarre issues and unhappiness over the endings on offer for one of its key characters, the general verdict on the game has been extremely positive, and its modding scene is already in full swing.

While some players have already begun discussing what they’d like to see from any official DLC or expansions or trying sex-based speedruns, others are hoping for the arrival of some subtle, but necessary, quality-of-life changes as part of the game’s roadmap.

Have you accidentally become an item hoarder Baldur’s Gate 3?

Larian founder Swen Vincke has shed some light on said roadmap in a Tweet, which began with an acknowledgement that the team is focused on listening to player feedback and working on rectifying the issues people report.

Vincke confirmed that a fourth hotfix and two patches, one of which they revealed will include “[over 1k] fixes and tweaks,” are on their way to the BG3 in the near future, adding that “The latter [patch] will already incorporate some requests.”

Since Vincke’s tweet arrived, players reacting to it on the game’s subreddit have helpfully put together some threads full of things they’d like to see tweaked or added to the game via these updates.

Aside from the ability to switch up the appearance of your character mid-playthrough, which the game’s developers have already suggested is in the works, the key changes the majority seemingly want to see arrive in the game involve its inventory management systems.

“Please for the love of all that is holy, make items auto-stack with each other,” declared user upholsteryduder, prompting Rustpaladin to add: “Also, [add in) a better camp storage system. I keep A LOT of magic items. It'd be cool if it had weapon and armour tabs for example.”

“While we're on the subject, [please] add [a] hotkey [that can] pick up all [items] and send [them] to wares,” chimed in user Remarkable-Ad-2476, explaining: “Yes, you can highlight them all [with a] right click, but it takes up a lot of time when you're a loot goblin.”

Thankfully, user Thatonebolt was on hand to recommend a temporary solution that might help out those who’ve accidentally amassed a huge collection of random things. They revealed that they’ve been using a bunch of backpacks and pouches to store and keep track of their “excess magic items and food.”

If you’re planning on adopting that strategy while you wait for Larian’s fixes to arrive, you might want to grab Liareth’s ‘Bags Bags Bags’, a mod that adds a bunch of new purchasable containers to the inventories of some merchants, in the interim.
