Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 is an easy contender for Game of the Year, which is why Xbox Series owners are getting impatient about the port. While some people on Twitter are claiming that it will likely come out next year, Larian Studios is adamant that the Xbox port will launch in 2023.

Michael Douse, the director of publishing at Larian Studios, responded to Twitter fans and said that a late 2023 release for the Xbox is still the plan. Douse was also quick to take a jab at some of the sour fans, mocking the ‘Twitter weirdos’ who are complaining for easy likes.

“Before the end of the year is the plan,” Douse confirms. “This has been said a few times but dudes with 33k twitter followers keep talking shit for likes.”

This isn’t the first time folks at Larian were asked about the Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox port, though the lack of communication has annoyed fans. Obviously, it will be coming at the end of 2023, but fans would appreciate an update.

Considering how immensely popular the RPG is, we wouldn’t be surprised if Larian was waiting for a more appropriate time to drop the title on Xbox Series. Larian Studios could always drop Baldur’s Gate 3 during The Game Awards, though it could also happen before or after that show.

While toxic online fans are definitely annoying, the long wait for Baldur’s Gate 3 on the Xbox Series has been a bit grating for everyone involved. The devs, in particular, had a hard time trying to port down the Series X version into the Series S, something many developers have been open about. It’s likely that the lack of news is to make sure the Series S port is up to snuff when it comes out.
