Just when fans thought the wait was almost over, it got extended. For those eagerly awaiting the arrival of Gotham City to the Nintendo Switch, it won't be this month.
Some unfortunate news has hit Nintendo Switch and DC fans today, as the game's official X (formerly Twitter) account announced that the release of the Batman Arkham Trilogy has been delayed.
While it is not all doom and gloom for Switch players, it will mean they'll need to wait a little while longer before they can take the mantle as the World's Greatest Detective.
Batman Arkham on Switch has been delayed
Originally set for an October 13 release, the Batman Arkham Trilogy has now been pushed back to December 1. This was announced on X this morning (October 3, 2023) in a post from the official game site.
In the post, the team behind the project stated their reasoning behind the delay, reassuring fans that this was the decision as they wanted to "bring the best possible experience on Nintendo Switch." Given the recent release of Mortal Kombat 1 on the Switch was less than impressive for fans, we're sure that many out there will be happy to wait if it means a better quality product is coming their way.
While we'll need to wait a little bit longer for Batman on Switch, it will be well worth the wait if the original release is anything to go by. The Caped Crusader brought us an incredible triad of titles that captivated, intrigued, and immersed audiences with some of the most iconic villains and locations in the DC Universe. Some may argue that it put a lot of pressure on Marvel, who have since delivered by producing a trilogy of their own, with Spider-Man 2 nearing release this month.
