It looks like 2K’s critically acclaimed BioShock series might return. A recent report from mp1st.com suggests that 2K is gearing up for a BioShock franchise announcement, potentially happening very soon. According to the report, the reveal could come before the end of summer, possibly during next month’s Summer Games Fest or somewhere around that timeframe.

When did the BioShock 4 Rumors start?

Rumors surrounding BioShock 4 have been swirling for almost 3 years. Even without Ken Levine, who has moved on to his own project, Judas, 2K appears committed to rebuilding the BioShock brand from the ground up. That said, it’s still unclear whether this new entry will be a reboot, a remake, or something entirely original.

Is the Next BioShock Going Back to Rapture?

One of the most intriguing takeaways from the report is the possible return of the iconic underwater city of Rapture, which may play a significant role in the upcoming announcement. This aligns with the still-mysterious BioShock Netflix adaptation, which we know very little about.

Currently, fans are speculating: will this be a brand-new entry, or just another remake, something that’s become relatively common in today’s industry? We could be in for a fresh, original take on the BioShock universe if it's the former.

Is There Another Rumored BioShock Game?

A few years back, rumors surfaced about a BioShock title called Isolation, supposedly set in Antarctica. While those whispers didn’t amount to much, they sparked the imagination of fans, hinting at a future BioShock game drenched in ice and possibly infused with steampunk aesthetics. After all, the series has always been known for crafting rich, imaginative worlds that pull players in.

Despite the lack of official updates over the years, the BioShock rumor mill continues to churn, especially after the massive NVIDIA GeForce Now leak, which listed several unannounced titles—some of those turned out to be real, including Final Fantasy VII Remake. Notably, BioShock was listed as getting an RTX remaster, though there’s been no further word on that.

As always, take these rumors with a grain of salt. Still, the mounting evidence suggests we could finally see something new from BioShock in the coming months.
