Iconic Call of Duty map recreated in Unreal Engine 5

When it comes to the Call of Duty franchise, there are several maps that have withstood the test of time and often make a return when Activision's annual release rolls around. As attention turns towards the launch of Modern Warfare 3, all 16 battlegrounds on the map list are remastered classics.

Before then, Season 6 for Modern Warfare 2 is on the horizon and judging by the initial roadmap, there's plenty of new content making its way to multiplayer.

Outside of the Call of Duty universe, an indie studio has utilised the power of Unreal Engine 5 to recreate an iconic multiplayer map within its own upcoming release.

Call of Duty Nuketown map in Unreal Engine 5

French developer Reissad Studio is working on an upcoming multiplayer FPS titled Bodycam. Described as an ultra-realistic FPS, the developers have recreated Nuketown from the Black Ops series.

Compared to the futuristic design of Nuketown in Call of Duty, the map in Bodycam features incredibly realistic detail and looks almost identical to footage captured by a soldier on the frontline.

Judging by the comments, there are plenty of impressed Call of Duty players wanting to jump into the action. One player says: "In my opinion, this is the most enjoyable shooter game at the moment." Another adds: "When can we play it?!"

Although there are no signs of a Bodycam release date appearing anytime soon, it's safe to say that there's plenty of interest in Reissad Studio's take on the

first-person shooter.

While the developer plans to release the game on Steam, fans are already asking whether it will arrive on other platforms: "Might be a good game to port to Xbox," said one.

There are many hoping Nuketown will feature in the launch build of Bodycam but Activision is no stranger to taking action against those that use their content outside of its games. The publisher has removed Call of Duty maps from Fortnite after players recreated their likenesses.
