For several weeks, the rumour mill surrounding the next instalment of the Call of Duty franchise has churned furiously, with numerous leaks claiming to have revealed a range of information on what Activision has in store.

Following reports of a classic feature potentially returning and the sharing of a possible full gun list for 2023's release, the publisher has finally unveiled what it's been working on.

As expected, the next Call of Duty title is dubbed Modern Warfare 3, much to the excitement of players, who're now anxiously waiting to hear more about the upcoming release.

Call of Duty 2023 is Modern Warfare 3

On August 7, 2023, Call of Duty's social media channels posted a 40-second teaser trailer confirming a change of theme colour from the traditional green to red for the game, in addition to the return of Captain Price.

Alongside the fresh hue and the confirmation of Task Force 141 talisman's return, the trailer also contains a release date of November 10, 2023.

Based on the immediate reaction, players are definitely looking forward to a sixth Modern Warfare release. One Twitter user responded: "This is going to be the best Call of Duty ever," while another added: "(I'm) excited to see how this changes Warzone."

The build-up to the reveal of Modern Warfare 3 has been an interesting one. Contrary to reports of Modern Warfare 2 receiving a two-year cycle, Sledgehammer Games will spearhead the development of the new game, which was initially intended to be an extensive DLC packed with new weaponry and maps.

Call of Duty is already teasing some potential changes arriving in Modern Warfare 3. Content creators received a package seemingly confirming the return of a popular movement mechanic, much to the delight of players.
