Breakdown
- A Reddit user posted a video of themselves requiring 3 clips of the GS Magna to kill a prone enemy from behind.
- This prompted users to complain about how underpowered the Modern Warfare 2 weapons feel.
- Players clarified that it's the akimbo mechanic that makes guns too weak and unusable in Modern Warfare 3.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare III players are tired of how poorly the weapons from MW2 perform. In particular, the Akimbo weapons and pistols being extremely weak is a general consensus.
A player uploaded a clip of them sneaking up on a prone enemy from behind while dual-wielding the GS Magna. However, it takes them two reloads and almost 3 clips in total to finally get the kill. Meanwhile, the enemy lay there prone during most of this.
As is evident through this completely ridiculous interaction, the post caption also mentioned that these weapons definitely need a buff. This prompted several responses of agreement from fellow MW3 players who are now tired of how weak the MW2 weapons feel.
A user mentioned how this was a major issue with the Akimbo guns from MW2 compared to MW3. In MW2 the guns have reduced range but also reduced damage at longer distances. However, the player was clearly within a pretty good distance during the video, so this range issue must be pretty bad.
A user mentioned an even worse-case scenario "Think this is bad? Dual wield the FTAC Siege with the damage-increasing Barrel and shoot at someone @ close range (not melee). I counted the hit-markers.. took 14 bullets to drop them."
Clearly, the Akimbo weapons from Modern Warfare 2 are in desperate need of buffs because their current state makes them unusable. It doesn't matter how competent you are if the weapon you're using is simply terrible. It can make for some fun challenges, but takes all the fun out of casual play,
One user commented "Pretty much all the mw2 pistols are dirt garbage and will just get you killed if you don't stack mad attachments on them"
Hopefully, Activision will try to make some balance changes around the Akimbo weapons from Modern Warfare 2 so that they feel fun and satisfying to use again,
