There’s good news and bad news for folks who can’t wait to get their hands on Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Demo
The great news is that there’s a playable demo of the game on the way, and you can check it out on September 16.
Bad news is that you likely have to pre-order the game in order to get the demo. That’s certainly the case for anyone hoping to play on September 16.
“Activision and Toys for Bob are proud to offer players an early look at two levels from Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, letting them play as Crash or the fiendish Neo Cortex,” Activision said in a press release on Tuesday.
How to Get the Crash 4 Demo
“Fans will experience firsthand the fun of wielding the power of some of the new Quantum Masks — Kupuna-Wa, to control time, and Lani-Loli, to phase objects in and out of existence,” the publisher said.
“Those that have pre-ordered the game digitally past and present will be able to download the demo until the game’s global launch.”
This applies to pre-orders on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
“Fans are so excited to get their hands on Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, the first original Crash Bandicoot title in more than a decade,” said Paul Yan, studio co-head at Toys for Bob.
“Even though we’re still a number of weeks out from the official launch, we can’t wait for fans to experience the challenge, fun, and love we’ve poured into this game, so we’re really happy to offer them early access to part of the game through a special demo.”
The words “special demo” certainly make it sound like this is exclusive to pre-orders, but we’ll see. It’d be nice for them to offer the demo to everyone closer to launch.

The studio’s previous games include Skylanders, the Crash Bandiccot N. Sane Trilogy, and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
