Cyberpunk 2077 - Mod gives Judy and Takemura high-res retextures

While a lot of Cyberpunk 2077 players are already imagining how sweet life will be when the Phantom Liberty Expansion arrives and they can ditch their old flame, Keanu Reeves, for a fresh celebrity companion in Idris Elba, some are still chilling in Night City while they wait.

When they’re not busy shooting or quickhacking their way through dangerous foes to complete a gig or side quest, many of these chooms can be found searching for somewhere in the metropolis to chill out with a drink at the end of a long day.

No matter what you choose to do after leaving your digs at the crack of dawn, a bunch of new mods aim to ensure a number of key NPCs involved in the game’s main story look their best at all times. So it's definitely a mod that could be worth adding to your load order.

Think some of Cyberpunk 2077’s important characters need a bit of touching up?

The mods in question are the work of modder XilaMonstrr, who has previously given everything from the game’s cinematic intro to its world map high-fidelity makeovers aimed at those running the game on high-end setups.

This time, they’ve built on their 4K and 2K texture overhauls of characters like Johnny Silverhand and Panam Palmer. They've made more progress in the quest to “upscale the entire game” by giving the same treatment to a host of other folks that you’ll meet through your adventures in Night City.

For steely ex-Arasaka operative Goro Takemura, there’s ‘High-Res NPCs - Takemura’. This'll give his grizzled visage and complex cybernetics an incredibly detailed coat of paint, while ‘High-Res NPCs - Judy Alvarez’ makes the tattoos and undercut of everyone’s favourite Mox BD programmer stand out just that little bit more.

Meanwhile, ‘High-Res NPCs - Wakako Okada’ gives the street-weathered countenance Westbrook’s top fixer some TLC. Also, ‘High-Res NPCs - T-Bug’ ensures that your tech support for the fateful heist at Konpeki Plaza will look the part.

If you’re keen to grab all of XilaMonstrr’s overhauls without having to juggle multiple installs, you can also check out ‘High-Res Graphics Pack - PERFORMANCE’ and ‘High-Res Graphics Pack - MAXIMUM’. These are Nexus Collections the modder is gradually adding all of their upscales to as they upload them.
