Since Diablo 4 arrived early last month, those who approached it with the perfect build in mind have been making great progress towards their goal of reaching peak performance and burying Hell beneath a mountain of enemy corpses.
Ahead of the game’s first season, which is set to arrive today, some of these hardcore hellspawn have recently been busy creating tools to help players create parties, predict enchanting outcomes or grind dungeons efficiently.
Now, however, the patch Blizzard released ahead of the update, which has proven so unpopular that some players have called for the Season of the Malignant to be delayed, seems to be causing even more issues for the game’s poor Sorcerers.
How’ve you been finding Diablo 4 since its latest patch dropped?
One of the major complaints players had with patch 1.1.0 was how it affects the class, with changes like the elimination of the ability to stack up bonuses using the Aspect of Control having had a major impact on its ability to inflict damage. That said, plenty of them have jumped into the game to try out its new unique weapon, The Oculus.
Sadly, some have already shared clips to the Diablo 4 subreddit that demonstrate issues with the wand’s teleport enchantment. For example, user Select_Ice_5435's character ended up stuck inside the game’s environment.
Meanwhile, user dreamknoxville posted a video of them using the weapon to fight some mobs, highlighting the fact that the main thing it’s useful for is chain-teleporting around during combat, in a manner that’s pretty straining on the eyes.
“Honestly, I didn't manage to blink into the textures in this recording, but every few minutes you will have to teleport out to town cause you are stuck beneath the floor,” they revealed, corroborating Select_Ice_5435's experience.
“I got dizzy just by watching this clip, imagine playing (for) hours like this,” commented user so4d_st, while others in the thread suggested that enduring this might be worth it if Sorcerers using The Oculus could do as much damage as other builds.
Having already confirmed that a Campfire Chat discussing the patch will be coming on July 21, Diablo Global Community Development Director Adam ‘PezRadar’ Fletcher has now also shared that that team will be “removing the level requirement for World Tier 3 & 4.”
A vocal portion of players are hoping that this will be the first of many changes from the patch to be reversed by the developers.
