Dragon’s Dogma 2’s official pawn system gets the fun addition of several celebrity Pawns you can add to your party to fight alongside you.
We’ve already seen players create impressive Pawns, and Capcom’s own official Pawns are no slouches either.
If you’re not aware of how pawns work, read our quick rundown. In the game, you're a party of four. You, your custom partner NPC, and two other NPCs you can hire made by other players or official Capcom NPCs.
These NPCs that fight alongside are called Pawns. For Dragon’s Dogma 2, some of Capcom's official Pawns are celebrities. There is a large variety of Official Pawns that you can recruit. Let’s take a look at some of them

To differentiate between a Regular Pawn and an Official Pawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2, Capcom has highlighted certain ways in which players can identify an official Pawn.
- Their name will be displayed in a different colour
- There is no Rift Crystal cost when hiring Official Pawns up to level 10.
- Once an Official Pawn is hired, their equipment cannot be changed.
- Official Pawns do not appear in certain features such as daily and overall rankings.
- Some may have a limited availability period.
Capcom also provides cautions when using Official Pawns stating that “Official Pawns may become unavailable and/or excluded from the Official Pawn list without prior notice, even within the availability period”.
