It looks like FromSoftware will finally release the highly-anticipated Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, soon, if everything goes to plan. New data was added to the game’s DLC section, suggesting that we could get an announcement or drop of the additional content soon.
SteamDB (via VGC) revealed that “Unknown App 2778580” was added to the game’s DLC data, which is the first major update this game has received in 15 months. FromSoftware has yet to say if the DLC will be coming out this year, but this is a major indication that something is in the works.
Gamers everywhere have wanted Elden Ring DLC since they beat it in 2022 and the wait has been painful for many. Sure, the game does have plenty of replayability, thanks to the various character classes in the RPG, but the hardcore fans have beaten this campaign a ton. Let’s hope that DLC is finally coming to this acclaimed classic.
DLC for Elden Ring was announced some time ago but very little information has been revealed, outside of it being called Shadow of the Erdtree. Until FromSoftware announces what the DLC is about, all fans can do is speculate what will be added. This is an expansion to a FromSoftware game, so new areas and new enemies are expected, but we want to see it in action already.
Knowing FromSoftware, the Elden Ring DLC will be worth it and fans will be praising it to high heaven once the expansion is available. We saw something similar happen when Bloodborne released its expansion all those years ago, which fans ate up. Then again, FromSoftware fans just seem to love the content that this company churns out, usually because they’re packed with content.
