For the connoisseurs of frustration that roam the plains of Elden Ring, it can be easy to get stuck and start struggling to have fun.

After all, when you’re having a difficult time mowing through that pesky boss that always has your number, your motivational pep talk from Israel Adesanya doesn’t seem to have much of an effect and you’ve already had a go at rebalancing the game, then staying upbeat can be a challenge.

Luckily, a new mod might be exactly what’s needed to bring the smile back to your face, offering you the chance to bounce through the game as a couple of iconic and beloved Nintendo characters.

Get ready to bounce on Malenia’s head and save Toad from some Living Jars

The mod in question is called ‘Mario and Luigi Elden Ring Saga’ and is the work of modder jjaneck1, whose sole previous mod brought The Legend of Zelda’s Link to Skyrim.

This time, they’ve done a similar thing to everyone’s favourite plumbing duo, turning skins for both Mario and Luigi into replacements for two of the Elden Ring’s vanilla armour sets.

Naturally, in the case of Mario, it’s the Mushroom armour set from Seethewater Cave you’ll want to get your hands on, before increasing the size of your character’s head to the maximum value in order to ensure that you don’t end up with a rather goofy-looking chin.

On the other hand, if green is your preferred colour, you’ll want to seek out the merchant located next to Castle Morne Rampart’s site of grace in order to purchase the Iron armour set that’ll turn you into Luigi.

If you’ve got a friend to play with, both skins might come in handy, as the addition of LukeYui’s ‘Seamless Co-op’ mod will give you the chance to play together as the infamous pair, in true Mario fashion.

Regardless of whether you’re opting for a tandem approach, you’ll definitely need an appropriate weapon with which to pummel the bosses that stand in the way of your pursuit of plumbing glory.

Such an implement can be found in place of the game’s club weapon, with Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga-inspired Hammers both serving as the Wretch class’ starting weapon and also being acquirable near the Coastal Cave site of grace’s merchant.
