Since they finally received the massive DLC announcement they’d all been craving, Elden Ring players have all been basking in the warm glow of knowing that work on the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is definitely underway.

Many have also decided to undertake intense boss battle prep sessions that’ll likely help keep their skills as sharp as possible until the expansion’s arrival, even if some of the abilities honed by beating the game with a Bop-It or using the energy of your mind might not be completely relevant to the upcoming challenge.

If your preferred method of spicing up your latest attempt to carve through the entirety of Elden Ring’s worldspace in record time is to use mods that can offer the likes of a first-person viewpoint or randomised fog gates, a new weapon-centric work might be worth adding to your load order.

Are you desperate for some new moves with which to decimate Elden Ring’s biggest baddies?

The mod in question is called ‘More Unique Attacks’ and is the work of modder GAMMANguyener. All of their previous projects have focused on re-jigging some of the game’s weapons to make them a bit more flashy and overpowered.

This time, they’ve elected to make an array of changes and additions to the unique attacks of a massive swath of different weapons you can find in various places throughout the game, ensuring that you don’t have to stick with a small circle of enhanced armaments.

As you can see in the showcase video below, these fresh attacks are designed to be a bit more grounded than the bombastic and colourful swings and thrusts GAMMANguyener is typically known for, ensuring that they’ll fit into the lore-friendly load orders of those who prefer not to transform Elden Ring into a zany wonderland.

From a thunderous stomp attack for the Cinquedea dagger, to some spark-inducing swipes for the Zweihander colossal sword and even the ability to shoot fireballs from the head of the Cranial Vessel Candlestand, no matter which of the game’s many weapon categories you prefer, there’s a decent chance the mod will have something to fit your current build or preferred playstyle.

That said, there are some categories GAMMANguyener has left untouched, saying: “For those, I either don't have much to work with, don't like the weapon type very much, or just don't know how I would change things.”
