While they may not have gotten the massive expansion announcement they wanted out of last week’s Game Awards, Elden Ring players have still had new content to dig into, with the long-awaited Colosseum DLC providing a fresh challenge for those who consider themselves PvP masters.
However, it seems some of them have already mastered the battle arena, possibly using a dance pad or cosplay build, and abandoned it in favour of attempting feats like trying to beat the game on two screens at once.
Though, not all of these elite fighters look to have gone the hardcore challenge route, with one instead deciding to use PvP to inspire the game’s community to take up the relaxing hobby of walking.
Have you ever considered becoming a flâneur in Elden Ring?
This quest forms the subject of a thread on the subreddit r/eldenring, which began with a post from the hiker themselves, user Anchorrr, who shared a clip of them sauntering past some confused players and revealed: “Sometimes if I don't have anything better to do, I name myself ‘JustTakingAWalk’ and invade with the purpose of just taking a nice stroll around the map.”
They also added some extra context to the clip, claiming: “The video cuts it off, but they joined in! We had a stroll around the map and back at the fog wall, I bowed, dropped them both a lord’s rune each and severed out.”
One of the users in the thread, benoxxxx, actually recalled having a similar encounter with Anchorrr, saying: “You invaded me and my friend a couple of days ago! We had a short stroll with you, and then you watched us fight the magic dragon that guards the academy key.”
Others shared their own tales of launching and receiving friendly PvP invasions, with user Braethias saying: “I got invaded by a guy called 'justlooking' who followed me around Stormveil with a spyglass until I encountered the lion with a sword on its arm for the first time ever.” and SSR_Adraeth confessing: “I've also created a character with an outright telling name, which serves also as my pacifist-only (sort of) run attempt. Though, I'd be ready to bet a lot of people will jump me even if I'm as non-threatening as possible and try to help them…”
Meanwhile, user XJ--0461 mused: “Imagine Elden Ring, but (with) 128 player servers and you have guys just doing (stuff) like this, let me solo her chilling over there, and all the other stuff we've seen.”
