- Bandai Namco announced that the Shadow of the Erdtree CE comes with an 18-inch statue of Messmer the Impaler
- The Elden Ring DLC will drop on June 21
- The collector's edition does not come with the base game
Elden Ring fans will be happy to hear that the Shadow of the Erdtree collector's edition will ship with an incredible 18-inch (46 cm) statue of Messmer the Impaler.
Messmer the Impaler is a new boss in Elden Ring's DLC, and possibly one of the toughest foes in Shadow of the Erdtree. The CE will come with a special box to keep the statue safe when you're not displaying it.
On top of that, the Shadow of the Erdtree collector's edition comes with a 40-page physical art book and a digital soundtrack, Bandai Namco revealed.
In February of this year, the DLC was officially announced, much to the excitement of fans who had been anticipating it for months. However, the surprises were somewhat spoiled by earlier leaks that had suggested a release date that same February.
In Shadow of the Erdtree, players will be guided by Empyrean Miquella to the Land of Shadow, a place obscured by the Erdtree where the goddess Marika first set foot. In this new and unfamiliar land, players encounter others who follow in Miquella's footsteps but soon discover their ulterior motives and dark secrets.
The DLC will add new weapons, equipment, weapon skills and magic not found in the base game. Of course, all this new equipment will come along with new enemies, boss encounters and story to further enrich the massive world of Elden Ring.
If you pre-order Shadow of the Erdtree, regardless of edition you'll get a bonus in-game gesture called the Ring of Miquella. If you're interested in the collector's edition, it's available via the Bandai Namco store for Xbox Series S and X, PC, and PlayStation 5, retailing for $249.99.
It's worth noting that the collector's edition doesn't come with a physical copy of Elden Ring but with a code to download the expansion, meaning that if you don't own the base game, you'll have to purchase it separately.
