When they’re not dreaming about a Netflix show set in the Lands Between, worrying about getting horse armour as DLC, or debating the morality of war crimes, Elden Ring players can be a pretty light-hearted bunch.
After all, when you spend lots of time being mercilessly slaughtered by bosses you’re randomly trying to beat with a drawing pad or while only using one hand, a good sense of humour goes a long way.
Sometimes this manifests in the guise of a discussion about which enemies you could beat up in real life, a Thomas the Tank Engine-themed mod, or even an intense debate regarding how crimson tears might actually taste, but currently, it’s taking the form of one player adding a rather epic soundtrack to their latest high-stakes PvP battle.
Have you ever had an encounter this cinematically paced in Elden Ring?
This joust is the subject of a couple of threads on the subreddit r/eldenring, the first of which began with a post from the player in question, user Jolly_Old_Lautrec, who shared a clip of them going toe-to-toe with another player in a location filled with lava that can only be traversed via a chariot, captioning it: “One of the coolest invasion moments I've ever had.”
Their fellow tarnished seemed to agree with that assessment, with user urchir saying: “I was hoping so hard that he would jump onto the chariot with you, I was kind of thrilled when it actually happened.” and Substantial_Tart9571 declaring: “Bro, that was intense! I was actually on the edge of my toilet seat watching this!”
Meanwhile, some users thought the clash was very Star Wars-esque, with HutSutRawlson saying: “Getting a lot of Revenge of the Sith vibes from that fight!” and SprChimo asking: “Am I the only one who had Duel of Fates playing in my head watching this?”
The latter seemingly gave Jolly_Old_Lautrec a bit of an idea, as they returned a couple of hours later with a new thread featuring the clip of the fight with Duel of the Fates edited in as background music.
A number of the users in this thread thought that the track fit just as well as they’d hoped, with kappaccio saying: “Saw this clip earlier, the music takes it to the next level. Such an awesome fight.” and another user revealing: “Excellent sync, when he jumped onto the platform and the choir kicked in, I cheered.”
