While they may not have gotten the massive DLC announcement they all crave yet, Elden Ring players have still had new content to dig into, with the long-awaited Colosseum DLC providing a fresh challenge for many who now consider traditional boss battles to be old news.
However, for the most hardened of warriors, this battle arena clearly isn’t proving difficult enough, with the world of streaming, infamous for producing the likes of drawing pad and one-handed runs through the game’s bosses, having featured the likes of dual device and guitar-based runs through The Lands Between in recent months.
Currently, streamer Larxa is adding to this list of ludicrous trips through The Lands Between by attempting her own challenge playthrough using only voice controls, with a hard-earned victory over the Elden Beast seemingly within touching distance.
Have you ever tried to navigate Elden Ring while barking instructions to your character?
While she isn’t the first Twitch streamer to have controlled their Tarnished using the power of speech, Larxa certainly hasn’t had an easy time of things throughout her run, which began early last week.
For example, the high moments of beating notorious bosses like Starscourge Radahn by yelling ‘wombo’ at them and not having to resort to any summons have been balanced out by some absolute slogs, such as her eight-hour-long series of tussles with the Fire Giant, which ended with a feeling of relief rather than excitement, as you can see below.
Heading into her latest stream of the run, Larxa was cautiously optimistic about her forthcoming encounter with the game’s final boss following a verbal thrashing of Maliketh, saying: “I’ll (hopefully) stagger the Elden Beast,” and adding: “(The) Elden Beast doesn’t really have a weakness to anything, so yeah, this will probably be the best thing at the moment.”
Just after the hour mark of the stream, she arrived at the location of the battle and began making attempts on Radagon’s life using the blasphemous blade, quickly racking up a few deaths and trying to get on top of some issues with the game failing to pick up some of her simple commands.
Not giving up, Larxa continued to rack up attempts at the fight as the stream progressed, breaking clusters of these up with breaks to do more preparation and recharge her batteries, before gradually dialling up the intensity towards the end, when she finally managed to beat Radagon and make it to the aforementioned beast.
Unfortunately, while she did get a personal best, the streamer couldn’t quite fell the best prior to calling it day, though she looks pretty well set up to finally achieve her goal during her next outing in The Lands Between, after which point she’s suggested she might clash with some of the optional bosses, such as Malenia and Mogh, that haven’t featured in the run thus far.
