As Fortnite continues sustaining its place in the gaming industry, Epic Games has announced they've acquired Harmonix - the team behind music and dance-themed games like Fuser, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Amplitude, and Dance Central.
Announcing this newly-formed venture yesterday, Harmonix confirmed plans to “work with Epic to create musical journeys and gameplay for Fortnite," but will continue to work on their already existing games. Alex Rigopulos, co-founder of Harmonix said:
“Harmonix has always aspired to create the world’s most beloved interactive music experiences, and by joining Epic we will be able to do this at scale. Together we will push the creative boundaries of what’s possible and invent new ways for our players to make, perform and share music.”
