No matter whether they’ve been worked on for years or put together in a single day, Fallout 4 mods can add a lot to the experience on offer in The Commonwealth.
Some of these wonderful works focus on giving you the tools to add your own personal touch to your post-apocalyptic playthroughs. Meanwhile, others can provide fresh adventures for you to delve into, sometimes involving familiar factions from previous entries in the series.
If you’ve been planning to delve back into The Commonwealth while you wait for Starfield or Fallout Nuevo Mexico to arrive and don’t mind embracing the sillier side of the Fallout series, a recently released mod is definitely worth adding to your load order.
Fancy killing some super mutants with some deadly gestures next time you fire up Fallout 4?
The mod in question is simply called ‘Finger Guns’ and is the work of prolific modder Neeher.
You’ll likely have encountered some of their work if you’ve ever given Sim Settlements a go, or grabbed any of the weapons that the Fallout London team have already released as standalone mods.
This time, they’ve taken on a project that’s a bit more light-hearted, adding the finger gun to the game. That’s right, with this “powerful joke weapon,” you can shoot your way through enemies armed with nothing but your bare hand, contorted into the shape of a flesh pistol.
As you can see in the showcase video below, this surreal new ordinance comes with its own array of custom animations and a bunch of different variants that mirror the firing cadences of single action, semi-automatic, and fully-automatic guns.
Among the elements that make the finger gun “pretty overpowered” in Neeher’s estimation are the fact that it comes with an infinite supply of ammunition, though you will still have to reload every ten rounds, and is completely silent, making it ideal for a stealthy play style.
In news that everyone wanted to hear, you can also dual wield two finger guns at once, becoming the ultimate comedy gunslinger.
To get your hands on a finger gun, you’ll have to visit a chemistry bench and craft it, a process which would seemingly involve the Sole Survivor spending several minutes teaching themselves how to point their index finger forwards and raise their thumb.
Regardless of whether you’re now blasting Marty Robbins’ Big Iron while you ruin raiders’ lives with invisible projectiles, make sure to follow us for more updates on interesting mods for Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas.
