When they’re not chilling out in a comfy settlement or setting off car alarms, Fallout 4’s Sole Survivor can often be found fighting their way through the many dangerous locales of The Commonwealth.
Given the many perils that come with completing quests in a post-apocalyptic environment that’s often highly irradiated or filled with unfriendly raiders, it’s no surprise that Vault 111’s finest frozen treat usually evolves into a bit of a wasteland superhero.
If your vault dweller is spending lots of time stylishly shooting their way through foes as bullets dramatically bounce off of their power armour, a new mod might be worth adding to your load order.
Feel like you don’t spend enough time appreciating the symphony of destruction Fallout 4’s protagonist is constantly unleashing?
The mod in question is called ‘F4llout NV - Killcam (Cinematic Killcamera mod)’ and is the latest work of modder lKocMoHaBTl. Some of their previous projects have brought Fallout 76-style mutations and a more immersive hunting experience to The Commonwealth.
This time, they’ve decided to add a new heavily customisable cinematic slow-motion camera to the game, which is activated whenever an enemy is killed and functions in a manner that’s inspired by the killcams of Fallout New Vegas and Max Payne.
As you can see in the showcase video above, the mod’s camera sticks pretty close to whichever perspective, either third- or first-person, that you’re actually playing the game from, rather than trying to go for different angles in a manner that can be disorienting, like the game’s vanilla killcam often does.
It also boasts an array of options that you can play around with via a panel displayed by Registrator2000’s ‘Mod Configuration Menu’, including two different trigger modes and the ability to adjust the exact speed and duration of slow-mo effects.
If you’re a fan of chaotic vibes, you can also seemingly randomise all of these settings, providing a way to make your next chem addict playthrough even more bewildering than it might otherwise be.
Regardless of whether you’re planning to embrace jet addiction during your next trip to Boston, make sure you’ve grabbed the Fallout 4 Script Extender and the aforementioned MCM mod before installing lKocMoHaBTl’s work, as both are required to get it working as intended.
So, prepare to watch some ghoul brains get splattered in dramatic fashion and make sure to follow us for more updates on interesting mods like this one for Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas. You can also check out our mods of the month for April 2023.
