When they’re not tinkering with their power armour, trying on quirky glasses or laughing at a joke told by a robotic clown, Fallout 4’s Sole Survivor can often be found getting involved in all kinds of adventures.
These quests usually involve at least a little bit of frenetic action, with the likes of mutated creatures and bloodthirsty raiders having to be blasted, zapped or bashed out of the way of objectives or loot.
If you’re a violent vault dweller addicted to the rush of dungeon running and crave a fresh challenge, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.
Fancy making your pursuit of loot in Fallout 4 a bit more hectic?
The mod in question is called ‘SKKTarkov RAID The Commonwealth’ and is the work of prolific modder SKK50. Some of their previous works have transformed Fallout 4’s open world into one reminiscent of Fallout 76 and give you the chance to battle huge hordes of feral ghouls every time night falls.
This time, they’ve decided to try and replicate two different kinds of timed raid from the popular FPS game Escape from Tarkov in The Commonwealth.
One of these, inspired by Tarkov’s PMC raids, will see you risk losing your own hard-earned gear if you fail, while the other, inspired by SCAV raids, will see you given a random loadout and forced to try and increase your inventory’s value by at least 30% in order not to lose everything you pick up.
As you can see in the showcase video above, these raids are kicked off either via a holotape called ‘SKKTarkov Settings’ on your Pip-Boy or by exiting the settlements of Diamond City and Goodneighbor, at which point, if you’ve chosen the latter option, you’ll be dropped off at “one of 200 random external locations” throughout the wasteland.
Once the raid has begun, your goal is seemingly to make your way to either of the two aforementioned settlements, which the mod uses as extraction point-style “safe zones”, from wherever you are on the map before the raid’s time limit expires, while also acquiring as much loot as you can.
Regardless of whether you’re now frantically dashing towards Boston while mowing down raiders and occasionally stopping to nab their clothes, make sure to follow us for more updates on interesting mods like this one for Skyrim and Cyberpunk 2077.
