No matter whether they’ve been worked on for years or put together in a single day, Fallout 4 mods can add a lot to the experience on offer in The Commonwealth.
Some of these wonderful works focus on giving you the tools to add your own personal touch to your post-apocalyptic playthroughs. Meanwhile, others can provide fresh adventures and new gear for your Sole Survivor that don’t require any tweaking.
If you’ve been planning to delve back into The Commonwealth while you wait for Starfield to arrive and want something interesting to listen to as you wander the wastes, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.
Feel like listening to a lore-friendly detective drama next time you jump into Fallout 4?
The mod in question is called ‘True Vault Escapades - A Fallout Audio Drama’ and is the work of voice actor Preston Hardin, who also goes by the alias DJ Atomic Wolf, and modder EpicestGamer.
The pair have teamed up to give Hardin’s ‘True Vault Escapades,’ an audio drama podcast that’s set in the Fallout universe, its own special radio station on the Sole Survivor’s Pip-Boy.
This means that you’ll be able to listen to 38 hours (59 episodes) of “a 1940s-inspired radio show about two wasteland detectives who solve crimes from Texas to New Vegas in the most exciting way possible” as you stroll through post-apocalyptic Boston.
“Though the story itself is a work of my own making, I made an effort not to interfere with existing Fallout lore and work around it for a more immersive experience,” Hardin reveals in the mod’s description.
In addition to meshing perfectly with the game’s established world and atmosphere, as you can hear in the preview clip below, the show also features some cool cameos by the likes of Ryan Alosio, who voices Fallout 4’s Deacon, and ShoddyCast’s The Storyteller.
If you want to get even more of an idea of what’s in store before you download the mod or just listen to the podcast while doing some real life wandering, you can find it here.
