When they’re not tinkering with their power armour, trying on quirky glasses or laughing at a joke told by a robotic clown, Fallout 4 players can often be found scouring Nexus mods for new quests to send their Sole Survivor on.
After all, once you’ve played through the game’s main quest more times than you can count, it’s easy to get sick of battling factions like The Institute and begin to crave the chance to explore unfamiliar locales, usually filled with mysterious mutated creatures or extra bloodthirsty raiders to blast or bash your way through for some killer loot.
One massive project that’s been promising exactly this kind of fresh adventure for a number of years now is Fallout London, which has recently had its intended 2023 release re-confirmed by the team following another of their number landing a professional games industry job.
Are you looking forward to exploring the streets of Blighty when Fallout London arrives?
This update was posted in the mod’s Discord server by Project Manager Prilladog, who first announced that Matthew Gibbs, a 3D Artist & Department Co-lead on the mod, who began working on it in February 2020, is set to join Frontier Developments later this month.
“Matthew has been an essential part of Team FOLON for a long time, particularly for Fallout London.” said Prilladog, adding: “He has contributed significantly to the development of the game, especially in creating all the vehicles that we'll be featuring in it, as well as such striking landmarks as (the) Tower Bridge.”
They also stated: “We want to assure everyone that Matthew's new position will not impact our release schedule for Fallout London. Matthew has been working hard, and all the vehicles have been done for a while now. We appreciate his commitment to the team and the project and wish him all the best as he embarks on this new journey.”
Gibbs, known in the modding community by the handle EdgeUK90, has also contributed work to a number of other massive Fallout 4 modding projects over the past few years, including Fallout Miami and Fallout Cascadia.
