While Fallout 4 is constantly receiving new mods that bring fresh weapons, dialogue and even irradiated creatures to The Commonwealth, sometimes you can’t beat delving back into Fallout New Vegas.
After all, with parties to throw, alien invasions to fight off and vampiric powers to master, the Mojave has plenty to keep you entertained while you wait for Starfield or Skyblivion to finally arrive.
If you’re someone who loves playing the role of devil’s advocate in the conflict over Hoover Dam and siding with Caesar’s Legion, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.
Feel like Fallout New Vegas needs more side quests aimed at those dressed as post-apocalyptic Romans?
The mod in question is called ‘Yes I Would Actually - A Legion Quest Mod’ and is the work of modder Nmck160, whose previous projects have given you the chance to betray the NCR’s first recon division during ‘Three-Card Bounty’ and ensured you shouldn’t encounter any transparent walls during your travels.
This time, they’ve decided to continue their ongoing mission to add more Legion-oriented paths to the game’s many quests aimed at NCR or New Vegas-affiliated couriers, by focusing in on the missions surrounding the Bitter Springs refugee camp.
“The only way to (really) hinder the camp in the Vanilla game is to hand Captain Gilles infected supply caches.” says Nmck160, adding: “(Not providing) an opportunity for the (Great) Khans to avenge their fallen loved ones (seems) like a missed opportunity.”
So, the changes to the camp’s quest line they’ve added, which is kicked off by visiting a new legionary named Marcellus at the Bitter Springs Recreation Area, aim to provide players with the means to immersively sack it and take over in a manner befitting their status as a scheming Legion advocate.
During the quests ‘Bitter Springs Infirmary Blues’, ‘No, Not Much’ and ‘Climb Ev'ry Mountain’, you’ll now have the chance to weaken the camp’s personnel by providing them with badly written medical books and irradiated supplies, before optionally recruiting some Great Khan help to storm the location.
However you choose to prepare, once you’ve cleared the area of NCR troops, Bitter Springs will be taken over by Marcellus and the Legion, granting them another tactically-significant base near New Vegas and Hoover Dam.
Nmck160 is also seemingly planning on finding a way to involve Boone and Manny Vargas in proceedings via future updates, building on their established connections to Bitter Springs.
Regardless of whether you’re now planting a Legion flag in the ground of a site already steeped in wasteland history, make sure to follow us for more updates on interesting mods like this one for Skyrim and Cyberpunk 2077. You can also check out our mods of the month for February 2023.
