While Fallout 4 is constantly receiving new mods that bring fresh weapons, quests, and even rideable Deathclaws to The Commonwealth and Fallout 76’s community keeps finding ways to make Appalachia fun to visit, sometimes you can’t beat delving back into Fallout New Vegas.

After all, with revised faction missions to head out on, interesting locations to visit, and possibly an alien invasion fight off, provided you win the fight against your load order, the game still has plenty to keep you entertained while you wait for Starfield to finally arrive.

If you’re someone who loves the Mojave because it’s the modern entry in the series feels closest to Interplay Entertainment’s classic Fallout games in terms of setting and ethos, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.

Ever wished Fallout New Vegas felt a bit more like Interplay’s classic Fallout games?

The mod in question is called ‘Classic Creature Style Retexture Pack’ and is the latest work of modder and YouTuber Webb Productions Entertainment. Some of their previous projects have brought a bunch of armour from massive projects like Fallout: Revelation Blues and the henchest-looking Enclave gear you’ve ever seen to the Mojave.

This time, they’ve added to their array of existing mods that aim to bring a taste of classic Fallout to the game by editing the textures of some common wasteland creatures and robots in order to make them better resemble their old-school counterparts.

Among those affected are the iconic Eyebot, which will now come with the bronze-coloured outer shell of its siblings from the first two Fallout games, as well as Protectrons and Sentry Bots, which have gained weathered-looking appearances inspired by Fallout 2’s hulking Sentries.

Changes have also been made to some wasteland wildlife, with giant ants having been given an intimidating bright red hue and radscorpions adopting earthier colours, closer to the base game’s bark scorpions. Even vermin like giant rats and mole rats have received a touch-up!

Given how nasty some of these creatures can be, it might be an idea to also grab Webb Productions Entertainment’s ‘Classic Fallout Weapons Remastered’, which contains some fitting weapons that can defend you against any retro foes.

The mod is compatible with both regular New Vegas and the ‘Tale of Two Wastelands’ version of the game that merges it with Fallout 3.
