The rumor about Far Cry 7 starring Cillian Murphy as the main antagonist has been the talk of the town recently. However, the rumour has been confirmed to be false by the initial leaker themself.
The rumor first originated from a cryptic Twitter post by user j0nathan, where he posted a few pictures. Because the track record of this user is pretty good, as he has accurately predicted Ubisoft content in the past, fans speculated that this prediction might also be true.
In his first post, he stated, “If nothing changes by then,” backed by four pictures in the tweet; one of the pictures was of Cillian Murphy.
After rumors about Cillian in Far Cry 7 started to spread, j0nathan reposted his own tweet, stating, “Mind you, I NEVER said Cillian Murphy was going to be in the game. The image means something else.” With no further explanation, he left the viewers thinking about what else it could mean.
Cillian Murphy is well known for his roles in Oppenheimer, Peaky Blinders, and his infamous character ScareCrow from The Dark Knight. If he is introduced as the primary antagonist in Far Cry 7, die hard fans will go crazy for sure.
It could be very much possible that j0nathan went back on his statement trying to avoid a lawsuit from Ubisoft for leaking insider information. However, this is merely speculation on our part.
Also, it won’t be anything new for the Far Cry franchise, as they have previously starred some notable actors like Michael Mando as Vaas in Far Cry 3 and Giancarlo Esposito as Antón Castillo in Far Cry 6. Although the previous installment of the series was not that successful, fans have great expectations for Far Cry 7.
Fans are really hoping that the rumours about Cillian somehow turn true, but the one that can truly tell us anything regarding these rumors is none other than Ubisoft itself. So, let’s wait and hope Cillian is there in Far Cry 7.
