Are you ready for gacha, but also for many more stories based in the world of Final Fantasy VII? Indeed, the eagerly awaited mobile spin-off Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is coming to Steam apparently much sooner than expected. The official Twitter (X) account has posted about the game having been published on Steam, so it might be just a matter of weeks before its release.
Developed by Applibot and published by Square, the mobile game has been previously released on both Android and iOS devices back in early September. The title reimagines the timeline of both Final Fantasy VII and also Compilation (the various FF7 spin-offs), with all-new stories taking place in the same world and with typical gacha mechanics. Ever Crisis is free to play, but does feature loot boxes with weapons and costumes.
The mobile action RPG saw quite the success on mobile platforms, having reached seven million downloads two months after its release. Fans appreciated both the new gameplay ideas, and also the nostalgic super-deformed graphical style adopted by the dev team.
On November 19, a new chapter was also added to Ever Crisis, bringing the total to four. To mark the occasion, the dev team also announced a series of draw tickets and limited items that can be found by players following the release.
Of course, it is not the only Final Fantasy VII game that is going to see release soon. On February 29, 2024, Square will also publish Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which is going to be the next chapter in the planned trilogy, following Final Fantasy VII Remake.
While we have no further information on the release date of Ever Crisis at this point in time, you can already go ahead and wishlist the title on Steam. This way, you can be sure you will be one of the first to grab it as soon as it is released.
