Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is going to give fans a lot of fanservice, whether it’s the return of The Gold Saucer or Zack’s additional chapter with The Whispers. However, it turns out the JRPG will have more “fanservice,” as the ESRB rating reveals some slightly naughty bits that fans have come to expect.
According to the ESRB rating (via Wario64), Rebirth is going to be T for Teen, just like Remake was. While the usual jargon about violence and alcohol is there, the rating also goes into some detail when it comes to the “fanservice” elements.
The rating claims that some female characters will wear revealing clothing in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, some of whom will have “deep cleavage.” We also get some dialogue in the game’s beach scene, with one character supposedly saying “Just admit it. You’re obviously captivated by my bodacious beach bod.”
“Deep cleavage” probably applies to Shinra member Scarlet, who has been showing off her cleavage since Remake. Fans are probably hoping Tifa gets to be part of that action, especially after seeing her in that dress during the Corneo Mansion scene, but we’ll wait and see.
Now, for the character saying “bodacious beach bod,” that could be a guy who likes showing off his physique. It’s a very anime-like trope and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth isn’t above that, given everything we’ve seen in Remake, alongside Rebirth’s trailers.
Hopefully, some of the fanservice we see also applies to silly moments, just like in Remake. There’s a reason why Cloud Strife in a dress is seen as an iconic moment, as many fans love how absurd this scene is. Plus, Cloud looks really good in a dress, we can see why Corneo ended up choosing him as his bride, who can blame him?
While “deep cleavage” is nice and all, most fans will be picking up Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to witness the retelling of several legendary moments. Red XIII goes through changes in Cosmo Canyon, Vincent Valentine will have an awesome entrance, and Aerith will…you know.
