The recent Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo was mostly praised, though fans did bring up how its graphics would dip, making many worry about the final product. Luckily, Square Enix responded fairly quickly, as the company says an update to the demo will fix the visuals and these changes will be implemented in the final game.
Square Enix confirmed the news on Twitter, saying that the update to their demo will be coming out on February 21st. Players are encouraged to try this demo out before the game, so they can see the improvements made, which is great for those who prefer Performance Mode.
“The update to the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo scheduled for February 21st will apply improvements to the visual quality when selecting “Performance Mode” from the graphics options,” Square Enix said. “The same improvements will also be applied to the full game.”
It is good to see Square take these criticisms seriously and the fact that they’re updating their demo to reflect these changes is a good move. Most fans didn’t expect to play the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo again, but this is a chance to hear the company out and see if they do good.
Players who picked Performance Mode originally saw blurry textures and poor character models, likely so the game could run at 60fps. While choosing Peformance Mode always means lesser graphical fidelity, many felt that the drops seen in the Rebirth demo were too much. It will be interesting to see just how different the demo will be, especially since the changes are in the final game.
Fans should be careful when looking for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth info online, as spoilers have made their way to various parts of the internet. Considering how close we are to the game’s release date, players should avoid certain message boards on Reddit and other social media sites just to be safe.
