Popular gacha game Genshin Impact has announced a limited-time event. It will run from November 28 to December 19, 2023, with its main appeal being event-exclusive characters and weapons receiving a huge drop rate boost.

In an announcement through Hoyolab, developers Mihoyo shared which characters would be receiving these drop rate boosts. The event-exclusive five-star characters "Judicator of Secrets" Cyno and "Pillar of Fortitude" Kamisato Ayato were joined by five-star weapons including the "Staff of the Scarlet Sands" polearm and "Haran Geppaku Futsu" sword.

Players can also expect some huge drop-rate boosts for four-star characters, most notably "Cat Upon the Eaves" Kirara, "Mender of Tribulations" Kuki Shinobu, and "Exquisite Delicacy" Xiangling. The four star weapons getting boosted are the "Lion's Roar" sword, "Favonius Greatsword" claymore, "Favonius Lance" polearm, "The Widsith" catalyst, and "Favonius Warbow".

The post makes it clear that event-exclusive characters and weapons will not be available in the standard "wanderlust invocation" wish. Similarly, the Character Event Wish and Character Event Wish-2 both share a wish guarantee count that is independent to all other wishes. Players that hoped their accumulated guarantees would be usable will need to grind for new ones during the three-week event.

Beyond the boosted drop rates, players can expect a 'test run' trial event. It promises a unique challenge by making players complete trial chambers using fixed line ups that contain the selected trial characters. Completing these challenge will give corresponding rewards, and there's no telling if or when they'll be back after the event ends.
