While some GTA Online players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by spending all of their hard-earned cash and finding fresh things to do.
After all, if you don’t enjoy trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, lack any hot takes regarding what or who it should include, and have given up on planning out your first playthrough, why not just try to appreciate the final stretch of GTA Online, even if you aren’t exactly excited about its current in-game events?
Perhaps it’s apathy regarding initiatives like the heist challenge that has some players yearning to head off to an important location from the game’s story mode for a mission, with a flight to North Yankton being on their agenda.
Are you still longing to pull off a heist in the snow?
These desires are the subject of a recent thread on the GTA Online subreddit, which began with a post from user Matt420666, who shared a few snaps of the chilly locale that served as the backdrop to Michael and Trevor’s most infamous heist and said: “I wish we could do a heist in the state of North Yankton in GTA Online.”
Some of their fellow players were big fans of this idea, with user ZystemStigma69 saying: “North Yankton would be a cool place to heist in GTA Online, I love snowy vibe.” and otacon7000 adding: “Not only would it be generally amazing to finally get a permanent expansion of the map, but it would also allow for snowy rally race tracks that actually have snow throughout the year.”
Others were a little less enthusiastic, with user Ooh_bees pointing out: “The area is way too small and sparse as it is to make (for) a (good) heist. Even (El) Rubios personal playground is significantly bigger.” and btx_pro saying: “Unless there's gold buried there, the payout will be lower than (the) Fleeca (job).”
This led Matt420666 to outline their idea for how such a heist could be made worthwhile for veteran players, suggesting that it could involve “working undercover for the IAA to rob a FIB government facility” and feature characters like Michael, Trevor and Franklin offering “unique dialogue” that might build on the events of the game’s story mode.
Meanwhile, a couple of users simply reminisced about visiting North Yankton during the early days of GTA Online, with Ciberstreak saying: “I swear before the heist DLC glitches were the best part of the game.”
