While some GTA Online players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by getting up to wacky hijinks and spending all of their hard-earned cash.
After all, if you don’t enjoy trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, lack any hot takes regarding what it should include, and have given up agonising over how you’ll earn back your current fortune if the new game includes tax mechanics, why not just try to appreciate the final stretch of GTA Online?
In the case of some GTA players, this enjoyment is coming from a spot of hardcore roleplaying or gnarly stuntage, but for others, it seems as though their revelry is being interrupted by the presence of items that they’ll likely never be able to unlock before the new game arrives.
Have you ever had a go at unlocking this racing suit?
Such an item is the topic of a recent thread on the GTA Online subreddit, which began with a post from user Theres_No_Fence, who shared an image of their character trying on the Tuned For Speed racing suit, which is earned by reaching level 1000 at the LS car meet, captioning it: “What was the point in (even) adding this outfit if no one is ever going to unlock it?”
One of their fellow GTA stans was quick to point out that there are some players out there dedicated enough to have been able to grab the outfit, saying: “it just takes time and a lot of AFKing in the car meet,” while one such player replied to confirm that this is how they’d accomplished it.
That said, it seems that not all who’ve done so are particularly happy with the results of their time investment, with user xxGerogeWKush lamenting: “I did it purely to wear it and hope (that) someone who knew what it was would admire it. Not worth it.”
As to why it exists, user notsomething13 suggested that its primary purpose could simply be “to irritate completionists,” though some players who categorise themselves as such replied to suggest that they decided that the grind required to unlock the outfit wasn’t worth it and didn’t have much trouble living with their choice.
Regardless of whether you’re planning to take a run at getting your hands on the racing suit in the run up to GTA 6, make sure to follow us for more GTA Online updates as new vehicles and more arrive.
