While some GTA players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to make the most of their remaining time in Los Santos.
After all, if you don’t enjoy trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, lack any hot takes regarding what it should include, and have given up on planning out your first playthrough, why not just try to appreciate the final stretch of GTA Online?
Some players have been attempting to do just that by taking a break from finding strange ways to save money on their property bills or digging into the brand new taxi work Rockstar has just released, though it seems a lot of them are now heading on hiatus as a result of exploits currently affecting the game on PC.
Have you been left frustrated by the exploits currently plaguing GTA Online on PC?
This trend, inspired by issues which Rockstar has already confirmed via a Tweet that it “(aims) to resolve in an upcoming planned security-related Title Update.”, forms the subject of a recent thread on the GTA Online subreddit, which began with a post from user RogueYautja.
They declared: “Fellow console players! Stop playing! The PC issues can't be allowed to be ignored.”, adding that they find the extent of the problems unacceptable and saying that they’re concerned they might end up facing similar issues on their platform of choice at some point in the future.
Thankfully, user Cookiesrdelishus was on hand to reassure them with regards to the latter point, saying: “I highly doubt this will come to console.” and citing the extensive measures in place to prevent third-party software from being used during online play on those devices.
Despite this, the thread featured a number of other console players airing concerns that they might eventually be affected by the issues, in addition to some PC players describing their experiences with regards to the issues.
“I play almost daily, at least an hour...I haven't logged in for several days.”, said user --richardallen–, adding: “Mostly for fear of my account getting (messed with). I was playing and all (of a) sudden I got a bunch of LD Organics unlocks out of nowhere...super quickly.”
RogueYautja’s suggestion of a cross-platform boycott garnered a rather mixed reception among their fellow players, with user BagelPoutine responding: “We all win if we stick together and Rockstar invests in QoL and security updates for all its player base.”, while RealisticTune8180 declared: “No thanks. If it was a console only problem the PC players wouldn’t care.”
Update: Rockstar Games has since issued an update designed to fix the PC issues, details of which you can find here.
