Rockstar creates ‘Thank You’ page for GTA Online and GTA 5 devs, prompting more GTA 6 speculation

While GTA Online is currently still full of dedicated crews relentlessly executing daring heists and dangerous sales missions on a daily basis in order to further inflate their massive bank accounts, it is starting to get up there in terms of years.

After all, given that the game has been around since 2013, it’s not surprising that the attention of many players has shifted to speculating about what the next entry in the series, GTA 6, could look like, with recent reports helping to fuel this fire.

Now though, things may be about to reach fever pitch, with a new ‘Thank You’ page of Rockstar’s website, originally reported on by PCGamesN’s Ken Allsop, possibly suggesting that the developer could be ready to focus fully on working on the next GTA.

This new page on Rockstar’s website is seemingly designed to act as a permanent roll of credits for both GTA 5 and GTA Online, listing all of the people from various studios who’ve worked on both titles over the years.

“Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online represent the combined efforts of our global team over many years.”, says Rockstar on the page, adding: “We want to acknowledge and thank everyone who has contributed to these games, from their original launch in 2013 all the way through to present day.”

Naturally, this could be a sign that ongoing work on GTA Online is finally drawing to a close following the recent Criminal Enterprises update, which brought about a number of long-requested quality-of-life and gameplay changes, in addition to adding some new content.

Prior to this, Rockstar had already signalled that future updates to Red Dead Online, the equivalent online mode for Red Dead Redemption 2, would be taking on a different form, with “delivering major themed content updates” no longer being a priority as Rockstar shifts more resources towards GTA 6.

This revelation quickly led Red Dead Online players to host an impromptu ‘funeral’ for their game of choice and to get the hashtag #RedDeadFuneral trending on Twitter.

However, such a reaction from GTA Online players would probably be less likely if the Criminal Enterprises update does turn out to be the last major content addition to the game before the arrival of GTA 6, given the massive amount of support the game has received since its initial launch in 2013.

Instead, their focus will probably shift to coming up with ideas for what GTA 6’s Bonnie and Clyde-inspired pair of supposed protagonists could be getting up to in Vice City whenever the new game finally arrives.
