While some are already focused on what might happen once GTA 6 gets a concrete release date, many GTA Online players are just trying to make the most of their remaining time in Los Santos.
After all, with Last Dose missions to delve into, plenty of rewards to earn and an array of new cars having been dispatched over the past few months, along with a cool place to store them, there’s still plenty of interesting stuff around in the game to keep enterprising criminals busy, no matter how they like to play.
However, it seems as though there are still some additions left on the bucket list of those who’ve been getting up to dirty deeds in Rockstar’s sandbox since 2013, one of which has recently been discussed on Reddit and will likely appeal to fans of the original Red Dead Redemption.
Would you be down to try and survive in a version of GTA Online’s Los Santos filled with brain-munchers?
The thread about this horror-themed idea on the GTA Online subreddit was kicked off by user GamerDabiTodoroki, who proposed to their fellow players: “If (Rockstar were prepared to do one), would y’all like to see a zombie apocalypse event, (which would see us all) fight the undead?”
This proposition seemed pretty popular among Los Santos’ legion of criminal masterminds, with user danndaman007 suggesting: “It'd be a great Halloween week or even the whole month. Start out small, then have it get worse each day/week as it spreads, and then the whole world goes insane (for) the last couple of days. Give (out) a huge reward (to those who) get through the whole thing without getting bitten.”
Similarly, user piamogus argued: “(You could) make the NPC (zombies) aggressive at night and slow during the day, (while also getting rid of the civilian) cars driving on the roads, but (adding in) abandoned empty vehicles everywhere.”
On the other hand, users SixStringStoner_ and LegendNomad theorised that such an event would be a great opportunity to encourage players to use different vehicles than their usual high-performance autos, such as the apocalypse-themed cars from the Arena War update.
Meanwhile, user whiteboysgotmeonPCP submitted an alternative concept that could also bring some added anarchy to GTA Online, saying: “Maybe not Zombies, but (something) like the riot in San Andreas near the end of the game. (A scenario in which) Los Santos is in chaos, but Blaine County is pretty well normal. (It’d be a) good way to close down the game before 6 eventually (maybe) comes out.”
