Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is coming to PS5 sooner than we think, as this port has finally received its release date. Luckily, Xbox Series owners are also getting a little treat, as a new “Enhanced” update will add the heavily requested 60 FPS mode fans have been wanting. In addition to all of that, the original Hellblade game is also getting a current-gen upgrade.

Fans will be able to get this new port of Senua’s second game on August 12. There will be a Standard Edition worth $49.99 and a $69.99 Deluxe Edition that includes the original Hellblade. Players who already have the original Hellblade on PS4 will get to upgrade to the PS5 version for free.

An overview from Xbox Wire confirmed that the “Enhanced” update for Hellblade 2 is getting the 60 FPS Performance Mode many wanted at launch. This mode will be available on Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC. Unfortunately, it will not be available for Series S owners, so they might want to upgrade their system.

The developers at Ninja Theory are also working on making this game more playable on Valve’s Steam Deck. If they’re lucky, it will perform similarly to the Series S version, so a consistent 30 FPS would be appreciated.

Gamers who love a challenge will be happy to know that The Dark Rot from the first game will be coming back in Hellblade 2. In this optional mode, The Dark Rot in Senua’s head will get stronger when the player dies. The more they die, the stronger this Rot gets, and it will eventually lead to a game over for Senua.

Extras like the game’s soundtrack and behind-the-scenes commentary will also be available, so there’s something here for fans who want to see how the sausage gets made. Overall, there’s a lot to like here, especially for those who are already invested in Hellblade 2.
