Slowly but surely it seems Microsoft is moving away from console-exclusive titles as a new report suggests Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is coming to PlayStation 5 soon after it's released on Xbox.
The report comes via The Verge, which states that Microsoft is internally weighing which titles from their portfolio would benefit from going multiplatform in the future, identifying MachineGames' Indiana Jones action-adventure blockbuster as one of them.
While there isn't a date set in stone for Indiana Jones' release on Xbox and PC, The Verge states that Microsoft is eyeing a December 2024 release window. This would mean that the PlayStation version could see the light of day in early 2025.
Of course, Indiana Jones coming to PS5 is not something that 100% will happen. Not necessarily because it could be an unfounded rumour, but more so the fact that Microsoft might opt not to pull the trigger on the Great Circle going multiplatform, choosing different titles from their catalogue to be released on Sony and Nintendo consoles instead.
Still, it could be seen as an inevitable sign of things to come for Microsoft in the gaming landscape. Their biggest title of this generation, Starfield, is also reportedly coming to PlayStation at some point in 2024.
Another high-profile game that could also stop being Xbox console exclusives in the near future is Hi-Fi Rush, with initial reports in early January suggesting it would launch on Nintendo Switch, with follow-up datamined information adding that the Tango Gameworks action game is also releasing on PlayStation 5.
First unveiled in 2021, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is being developed by MachineGames, who became prominent in the gaming industry after developing multiple successful Wolfenstein games, as such, the game will feature a first-person perspective for the majority of gameplay.
