Hexworks’ upcoming Lords of the Fallen reboot has been highly anticipated by the Soulslike fandom, but it seems that Xbox owners will need to wait a bit. The developers have thanked fans for their excitement, before seemingly warning Xbox Series owners to wait a bit before playing.
On Twitter, Hexworks told fans that the Xbox Series version of this Soulslike RPG will be getting patched up in ‘the coming days.’ While the PS5 and PC versions will be able to ‘enjoy the game as intended,’ it’s odd to see the Xbox Series version not part of that quality seal.
Admittedly, game development is a difficult process, so maybe something went wrong while the devs were testing things out for each version. There’s also the fact that Xbox Series developers have to work on both Series X and Series S versions, which may have affected this port.
Considering how good Lords of the Fallen looks, we wouldn’t be too surprised if the Xbox Series S version held this port back. It’s not the first time that the Series S port has held Series X versions back, with Baldur’s Gate 3 and the upcoming Alan Wake 2 being big examples.
Whatever the case, this shouldn’t be a deal breaker for fans looking forward to the game, though it’s a shame that Xbox users have to wait. In the long run, this won’t be a huge deal, especially in an era where games can just get updated, but let’s hope this doesn’t happen again.
