Minecraft recently released a trailer for its upcoming live-action movie, which didn’t sit well with video game fans.
Many think that the mix of CGI animation and live-action cast isn’t the formula that will work for Minecraft, and some say they started to see flashbacks of the initial Sonic design.
After watching the latest movie trailer, Minecraft fans took to X to express their apologies and gratitude to Minecraft: Story Mode.
Minecraft: Story Mode is a point-and-click episodic video game made by Telltale Games, similar to The Walking Dead.
When it was released, Minecraft fans weren’t happy with how Telltale developed its gameplay and mechanics.
While it has a different gameplay mechanic than the original Minecraft game, fans now seem to prefer it over the upcoming Minecraft movie.

According to Minecraft’s website, a Minecraft Movie revolves around four misfits who are pulled through a mysterious portal into the Minecraft Overworld.
Many players think the movie is another generic trope where several characters are transported to another world with Jack Black, which is likely a reference to the recent Jumanji movies. Compared to Minecraft: Story Mode, many fans would gladly play the game again instead of watching the film.
Movies like Sonic had their designs changed after receiving massive fan backlash. Two movies later, Sonic The Hedgehog 3 will feature a fan-favorite character, Shadow. While Minecraft fans have the same ability to voice out what they think would work for the movie, Minecraft: Story Mode is still there waiting to welcome them back with open arms.
