The current selection of maps in Modern Warfare 2 remains a hot topic of conversation within the community. Players aren’t the biggest fans of the original designs and are growing tired of Shipment and Shoot House providing the fast-paced action.
With Season Two now underway, the return of Dome from Modern Warfare 3 and Valderas Museum from the beta injects a breath of fresh air into multiplayer. However, the lack of brand-new maps is leaving many frustrated.
While the focus was on the new season, Infinity Ward has teased the release of a brand-new 6v6 map arriving in the not-too-distant future.
A new Modern Warfare 2 map
Alongside the launch of the new season, the Call of Duty Twitter account revealed the multiplayer team at Infinity Ward has pushed the release of the new map forward much to the excitement of fans.
Judging by the screenshot, it appears the map is set in a ski resort with several multi-storey buildings overlooking the central swimming pool. As expected, the community were quick to share their thoughts. “I truly hope there is more 6v6 content in future seasons. New core maps as well as OG MW2 remasters,” comments one fan.
With a new map now launching as part of the Season Two Reloaded update, other members of the community are concerned that Season Three will now launch with fewer maps due to the change of plan. “Season 3 gonna have 1 6v6 map now,” thinks another player.
The lack of multiplayer content has been a sticking point for players leading up to the start of Season Two. Many believe Infinity Ward is prioritising the success of Warzone 2, leaving multiplayer high and dry. On the other hand, moving new multiplayer maps forward could solve the problem once and for all.
