A set of attachments, or mods, transforms a mid-range assault rifle in Call of Duty: Warzone to an absolute killer at close-range combat.
Assault rifles are generally excellent for use at mid-range in first-person shooter (FPS) games. While they are undoubtedly usable at close range, their programmed damage pales in comparison to those of shotguns and high-powered handguns in the game.
However, the use of attachments helps give ARs an edge in close-quarter mayhem by at least boosting their damage stats. In FPS games, they can provide an assault rifle with a shotgun’s edge if they use the right mods like this setup spotted by X user Fifakill.
This particular setup involves a maxed-out Level 28 MCW assault rifle. It is outfitted with four attachments, namely:
- ZEHMN35 Compensator Flash Hider - The ZEHMN-35 is a universal gun attachment that can be unlocked by bringing the HRM-9 to level 6.
- DR-6 Handstop Underbarrel - You can unlock the DR-6 handstop underbarrel by levelling up the WSP Swarm to Level 23. If your Account Level is 25, you can also complete its associated Armory Unlock Challenge.
- Quarters Classic Reflex Optic - Based on the classic Red Dot sight from the original Modern Warfare game, the Quarters Classic Reflex Optic can be unlocked by raising the SOA Subverter to Level 8.
- JAK Raven Conversion Kit - The rifle is also customised with a JAK Raven conversion kit, significantly improving accuracy when firing from the hip.
The kit also makes the MCW more lethal when moving, an attribute necessary for close-range combat.
This setup increases the MCW’s formidable damage while improving recoil control, mobility, and handling. Its improved fire rate pumps more bullets into your opponents.
It somewhat decreases the range, but the downgrade is negligible, even in mid-range combat.
The MCW is one of the assault rifles that made it to the A-tier of our Best Warzone AR list. Be sure to check that list out!
