From Skyrim and Fallout to Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3, as well as games like Elden Ring and the Resident Evil 4 Remake, we here at Gfinity cover an awful lot of mods, with all of them hopefully offering something that’ll make your latest playthrough of any of those games a bit more interesting.
This month has certainly delivered a strong selection of works, with everything from riot shields to scavenger hunts, and even the chance to go into stasis until The Elder Scrolls 6 is released having possibly arrived in your load order.
With this in mind, we thought it might be cool to highlight five of the best mods that we’ve featured over the course of March. So, here we go…
5. Cyberpunk 2077 gets a massive shipment of Fast and Furious movie-worthy cars
Kicking things off this month are a bunch of similarly themed works that bring an array of real world rides to Night City. While Ctxrlsec’s Nissan Skyline and McLaren F1 are both very cool and rapid enough to win any street races they enter, ErebusEquity and co’s ‘1991 BMW E30 M3 (standalone car)’ might be the hottest whip to arrive in NC this month.
Offering a custom gearing and engine profiles, a fully functioning interior and destruction physics that won’t look out of place alongside any vanilla vehicles, in addition to a stash that allows you to tweak your loadout upon skidding to a halt, it’s clear that tons of work has gone into this creation. Make sure you don’t wrap it around a lamppost during your first joyride.
4. Fallout 4’s irradiated areas become even more dangerous
Picture the scene. You’re hiking through the Glowing Sea. A violent radiation storm crackles overhead, but, between the bursts of nuclear thunder, you hear a beep that signals your power armour’s fusion core is about to run out of juice. You quickly realise it’s the last one left in your inventory. Then, out of the corner of your eye, you see one of the creatures or foes depicted on the mod page of RascalArt’s ‘Radical - COA Addons’.
No matter whether what you’re seeing is a feral ghoul spitter, a grotesque firefly queen, or an ‘Atom Blessed’ member of The Divided, odds are you’re in for a bad time. That said, if you can take down one of these fresh foes, it’ll certainly make for a good tale to tell next time you visit Diamond City. As would the Strident Zealot Children of Atom and mysterious Fog Haunters the mod adds to Far Harbor, but you should probably avoid seeking those out unless you’ve packed enough rad-away to treat a medium-sized settlement.
3. Elden Ring players get a chance to see the Lands Between through their own eyes
The array of tough and terrifying bosses that inhabit Elden Ring have rightfully earned the game a fearsome reputation and prompted an endless number of wacky challenge runs. While the amount of these thoroughly entertaining attempts to best powerful foes via unorthodox means being uploaded to Twitch will no doubt see a massive resurgence once the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion arrives, this next mod might be the perfect thing to tide you over until that point.
‘First Person Souls - Full Game Conversion’ is part of the ongoing First Person Souls project headed up by Dasaav and does exactly what it suggests, offering you the chance to play through the game from a first-person perspective. This is accomplished pretty seamlessly thanks to a bunch of tweaks and changes to the game’s HUD and movement mechanics. Just don’t think being able to see Malenia a bit differently will make beating her any easier.
2. Skyrim gets some cosmic spells ideal for Starfield fans
While we’re all eagerly awaiting the arrival of Starfield in September, if we spend every waking moment until then speculating about what it’ll hopefully include, odds are a wave of mild disappointment will follow. With this in mind, modder Norive’s ‘Stellaris’ is a great way to scratch your itch for interstellar visuals while sticking to a Bethesda RPG that’s already here.
Adding a bunch of enchanting cosmic spells with colourful visual effects to Skyrim, this mod is ideal for mage characters with a burning desire to study the night sky and add an array of astronomical texts to the College of Winterhold’s library. Just make sure your Dragonborn doesn’t end up falling back to Earth in a shoddily-built Dwarven spaceship.
With that, we’re down to just one victor. So, without further ado, here’s 2023’s third mod of the month:
1. Thomas the Tank Engine becomes a boss in the Resident Evil 4 Remake
Yes, you read that right. Everyone’s favourite train has already made cameos in games like Skyrim and Resident Evil Village, making it no surprise to see him almost immediately get spliced into Capcom’s latest release.
Modder XxCRAZYPOTATOxX was the interesting individual behind this particular incarnation of Sir Topham Hatt’s finest locomotive, which is named ‘El Thomas’ and sees him become one with Resi 4’s lake monster, Del Lago.
Naturally, this makes for a more surreal boss fight than Leon might have bargained for. If you can resist the urge to scream ‘choo-choo’ long enough to jam a bunch of harpoons into the terrifying train, you’ll come out of the fight relatively unscathed. Though, odds are you won’t be able to forget this unusual encounter any time soon.
So, that’s it for this month! Regardless of whether you agree with these selections, make sure to follow us for in-depth coverage of loads more great mods over the course of April. You can also check out our mods of the month for January and February.
